Beauty Unexpected
I've been trying all day to get a picture posted and linked to Rebecca's blog...but it's almost 10pm here and I'm just getting it done! The joys!
Rebecca is a sweet bloggy friend that I met just a few months ago. She's an incredibly talented photographer. What I love about her the most is her love for the Lord, but I also love it that she's more than willing to share her knowledge of and experience with photography with those of us who know significantly less!
She just did a fun post on Beauty Unexpected with a Mr. Linky so we can all join in! Unfortunately, I left my battery charger for my camera at my dad's a few weekends ago, and it's being shipped as we speak. That means I couldn't go out and discover new beauty, so I've decided to pull from some old!
These pictures were taken two summers ago in Alaska. My husband's father took us (and my brother and sister-in-law) on an Alaskan cruise before any of us had him some grandkids! Two years later the father of two boys has two little girls!
When traveling in a place as beautiful as Alaska, it's hard to imagine that any of the beauty you see might be unexpected. After witnessing whales surface and smack their tales on the water, viewing spectacular glaciers calve into the ocean, and watching sunsets that could never be replicated, it surprised me that I was still taking pictures of grass, or rocks, or dinky little piers. But those have become some of my favorites and are the ones that are actually hanging on my walls!
And since I have a complete inability to chose one photo for anything...here's three!
