the Zoo

Our local zoo is fairly advanced for a city this size. The animal habitats are just that, habitats, instead of cages. In fact, this peacock had free run of the entire zoo! I think they had the females enclosed though. :) I loved his vibrant colors!

I'm fairly certain that this next animal would have eaten us had it not been enclosed behind bars and an electrical fence. Even as natural as this jaguar's habitat was, the viewers were still protected by thick metal wires.

These elephants were beautiful. I thought it was so sweet how the adult elephant was showing (and helping) the baby elephant how to take those branches out!

And these exquisite flowers lined the edge of one of the enclosures. Couldn't resist taking a picture of these!

This is my creative outlet. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I currently shoot with a Canon 5D and primarily a 28-75mm 2.8 lens or a 50mm 1.4 lens. I love landscapes, flowers, and architecture; but my ultimate goal is to be able to take great pictures of my little girls. I want to capture the expressions, the quickly fleeting moments, and document the blessings of our amazing God! His mercies are new every morning...

...these are a few of my favorite things.
